The qualification samples of nickel mixed hydroxide precipitate (MHP) produced at its Devon battery recycling scale-up line could be 50% lower carbon with stable levels of purity compared to using virgin raw material from mining and refining.
The MHP will support the development of a low carbon footprint, low-cost cathode active material production process direct from battery intermediate raw materials.
